What is Chinese medicine?
Chinese medicine is based on ancient Chinese philosophies, which promote a holistic approach to illness and its prevention. While it began in China thousands of years ago it has been, and continues to be, modified and improved as our modern understanding of different health conditions advances.
The overall aim of Chinese medicine is to return the body to a natural state of balance, encouraging the body to heal. Treatments involve close examination of the particular issue the patient would like addressed, as well as their general physical and emotional health. Through careful questioning and observation a treatment is designed that is specific to each individual and seeks to address all of the patient’s health concerns.
