Chinese Herbal Medicine

Chinese herbal medicine may be prescribed in either pill or powder form. Like acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine has developed over thousands of years. Herbal prescriptions usually contain a number of a herbs, each complementing the other in their actions. These formula are devised by the practitioner based on the patient’s specific health requirements and may be modified or adjusted as the patient recovers or as their symptoms change.

Plant-based materials are primarily used, including the leaves, flowers, seeds, branches and roots of the plant. Examples of some of the commonly used herbs that you might know include ginger, liquorice root, red dates and turmeric. It is important to note that, as registered practitioners, it is illegal to use products derived from endangered or protected species of animals or plants. We fully support and adhere to this requirement.
